Free PADI and BS-AC Courses – save over £470
We’ve had lots of enquiries for this trip, some with concerns over the level of diving, and some asking if we will be running any courses. It strikes me, that with unlimited 6 days diving and you will already have your own kit (or hired) we can address both of these points. The only costs are the materials and PADI certification.

We want you to get the most out of this trip, whether an almost novice or and experienced diver, so we will be running a Peak Performance Buoyancy Clinic, Night Diver Speciality, Underwater Digital Photography Speciality, Underwater Videography Speciality and Deep Diver Speciality courses. The courses are completely free of charge, the only cost to you are the materials (some you may have already), and the PADI certification fee.

Peak Performance Buoyancy (Manual & Certification £32.34)
On the first day diving, we will all probably need to check out our weighting (new suits, kit etc) so we will be running a buoyancy clinic. Let’s get trimmed properly, particularly if you intend taking advantage of the fantastic video and photographic opportunities. We will do this over two dives as the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course. You can join in and take the course completely free of charge, or if you want the certification, complete the knowledge review from the Adventures in Diving Manual, watch the DVD with us, finish the formalities and we will qualify your PPB Speciality.

Night Diver Speciality (Manual & Certification £25.99)
This takes 3 dives in total, watch the DVD with us and complete the knowledge reviews. Remember that you need this qualification to dive at night otherwise your insurance will not cover you. You could be diving outside of your qualification level. I personally love night diving. You seem to see so much more as your vision is concentrated in a smaller area and the torches bring out the entire colour spectrum. You will need your own torch, or to hire one.

Digital Underwater Photographer (Manual & Certification £27.68)
Four dives plus a downloading and editing workshop. We work on your technique and your composition to try and improve the quality of your photos as well as increasing your understanding of digital underwater cameras. We take the mystique out of white balancing and you get to try out our wide-angle lenses. Cameras loaned if necessary. As a Fuji-Dive main dealer we should know what we are talking about.

Underwater Videography (Manual & Certification £32.34)
3 dives and some theory. We would seriously recommend completing the peak performance buoyancy clinic beforehand. It’s very difficult to keep a camera steady if you are not. We will be producing a DVD of the trip and will include the best clips from the course plus our own. You will get credits on the DVD and the uploads to our www site, facebook and Utube. So you don’t have a video camera… firstly we will be using our JVC HD camera and housing (yes you can play too) plus if you have a reasonable quality digital camera with video (the Fuji’s are fantastic) let’s use that. You will be amazed at the results. We will also look at editing, soundtracks, animated intros, transitions and finally burning to disc.

Deep Diver Speciality (Manual & Certification £25.99)
4 dives in total which will bring your certification level to 40 metres. I can’t think of a better place to do this. Build your confidence with professional instruction. The official maximum depth for the Red Sea has been dropped from 30metres to 40 metres. To go to this depth you will need a deep diving qualification.

For each course you will need to complete the knowledge reviews from the manuals, some have DVD to watch which we will do in the evenings, and complete the dives.

BS-AC Training
We won’t be running any full BS-AC courses, but if you need to complete something, we have our very own BS-AC Advanced instructor along who will be very pleased to help out. Just let us know what you need to do. Remember, it is your club Diving Officer who will need to sign the final certification.

Places will be limited for all the courses on a first come, first served basis. Offers are open to anyone completing a course with us in the UK during 2009, or if this is your first holiday with us.

I have personally handpicked theses course for two reasons. Firstly, they will help you get the very best out of this trip regardless of your current qualification and secondly I particularly enjoy these ones… it’s my holiday too.
